Rethinking Energy; Navigating Change
The global economy is set to pick up, although growth remains uneven. Geopolitical developments and a possible shift to more inward-looking policies could dampen trade and longer-term growth. Demand and supply imbalances continue to weigh down oil and gas prices, but the sustained decline in upstream investments could lead to supply changes in the future. At the same time, renewables and grid storage continue to gain momentum as technology improves and prices fall. However, international efforts to build a sustainable energy future could be set back by diluted climate change commitments. SIEW 2017 will facilitate discussions on staying nimble, navigating challenges, and seizing opportunities in this evolving energy landscape.
