Dr Satyendra Kumar is presently Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Lanco Solar, a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech Ltd. Lanco Solar currently has one of the largest solar power development & (engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) pipelines in the country.

The company plans to set up 500MW solar (PV & thermal) power plants over the next few years and emerge as a leading developer and EPC in the country and internationally. Lanco Solar is also setting up India's first integrated solar PV manufacturing "Special Economic Zone" (SEZ) project in the Rajnandgaon district of Chhatisgarh.

He got his education at IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, Ecole Polytechnique France and Penn State University USA.

Before joining Lanco Solar in 2008, Dr Kumar was a full Professor at IIT Kanpur and was also heading the Samtel Centre for Display Technology - a unique concept in industry-academia-university partnership in the country. He has published and presented more than 150 papers in International Journals and conferences. He is also an active member of The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Materials Research Society (MRS), Society for Innovation and Development (SID), and Solar Energy Society of India (SESI).
