We are pleased to announce that Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will deliver the Singapore Energy Lecture (SEL) on 23rd October 2017 at the 10th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW).
DPM Teo will give a keynote address centred on the SIEW 2017 theme “Rethinking Energy; Navigating Change”, which reflects on the opportunities we face in today’s varied global energy landscape.
The global economy is set to pick up pace, but growth will remain uneven. Demand-supply imbalances continue to impact oil and gas prices, but the sustained decline in upstream investments could lead to future price adjustments. At the same time, renewables continue to gain momentum as technology improves and prices fall. Weak climate change commitments could hold back international efforts to build a sustainable energy future. Against this backdrop, there is a need for energy players to stay nimble, navigate these challenges, and seize opportunities in this evolving energy landscape.
